Cargados Carajos (also known as Brandon Saint Rocks). It is a group of about 16 small islands in the northeast of Mauritius. The islands are dependent, administered by the Government of Mauritius from Port Louis.

Mauritius is a mountainous island, but the mountains are not very high.

Second is Pieter Both at 823 meters and Le Pouce at 812 meters is the third highest mountain on the island.
Mauritius is in fact a broken ring of mountain ranges between 600 and 800 meters above sea level, surrounds a central plateau.
Coral reefs surround more or less the entire coast and form many shallow lagoons. The island has two natural lakes (crater lakes) and an artificial reservoir.
Port-Louis, which is northwest of Mauritius, is the main city of Mauritius and the largest city. Beau-Bassin and Rose-Hill, Curepipe, Vacoas, Phoenix, Quatre Bornes are the other significant towns. Port-Louis and Mahébourg are the two largest ports.
Mauritius is 855 km east of Madagascar. Located in the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean, north of the Capricorn Tropic. It is southwest of India between longitudes 57 16 ‘and 57 49’ east, and latitudes 19 58 ‘and 20 34’ south.
Mauritius also includes the island of Rodrigues located 600 kilometres east of Mauritius. Besides Rodrigues Island, Mauritius has two small outbuildings.

The Agalega Islands are two dependent islands of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Some 1,100 kilometres north of Mauritius.
