Mauritius does not allow dolphins in captivity. Therefore, the dolphins are wild and free in the open ocean. Swimming with wild dolphins can be incredible stressful for the animals. Getting the best view of their acrobatic display you should observe them from a distance. You may try a swim with a wild dolphin under the supervision and advice of the skipper.
Dolphin pods frequent at Tamarin Bay in Mauritius. Early morning is the best time to see dolphins in Mauritius. The dolphins return to the shore to rest and play after spending the night in the deep sea in search of food.
Between July and November, Humpback Whales are more common. Sperm Whales can be seen all year and have been observed congregating in warm waters.
The Spinner and Bottlenose Dolphins can be found in Mauritian waters. Peers dislike congregating in the same place, so you will never see them together.
