The French governor of Mauritius established it as a private garden about 300 years ago. The Botanical Garden has thousands of acres of land, and walking across it all could take you more than a week. The botanical garden is home to around 650 plant species. There are 85 different types of palm trees, a vast spice garden, and many other features.

L’Aventure Du Sucre Sugar estate & Museum: The Sugar Estate and Museum, located in the northwest of Mauritius, has an area of over 5000 square metres. The estate will teach you about the importance of sugar in Mauritius’ history. You will also hear local legends and stories about the Mauritius sugar industry. As part of the visit, you will be able to watch a selection of videos and films on many sugar-related topics. You will also be able to make purchases through the site’s store. Tour and visit to Port Louis. Enjoy a visit to Mauritius’ capital, Port Louis. Port Louis is Mauritius’ major city and the island’s commercial and administrative centre. You can walk down the palm-lined Place d’Armes, which is close to the main square. Beautiful French colonial buildings, such as the Government House and the Municipal Theatre, may be found here. You will have free time to explore the Port Louis Waterfront and the shopping complex Le Caudan Waterfront. The vibrant Port Louis Waterfront is home to attractive shopping and entertainment locations. Port Louis as world-class hotels and restaurants with views of Harbour. The waterfront has become an important part of Mauritius’ tourism and cultural life.

Fort Adelaide (also known as La Citadelle) was built at 240 feet above sea level in a particularly advantageous location on higher grounds of Port Louis. Fort Adelaide’s construction began in 1832 and was completed nearly ten years later. Fort Adelaide provides expansive views of Port-Louis and its port. The British built this fortification out of fear of civil strife from the surviving French settlers on the island, as well as to protect the harbour from foreign attacks. A ride uphill to Fort Adelaide provides stunning views of Port Louis and the adjacent mountain range.

Another interesting spot to visit is the Port Louis central market, which is a great place to find many locally created products, textiles, Mauritian spices, fruits, and many souvenirs at very low costs. In your spare time, explore the city streets and visit various tourist landmarks, including the Anglican and Catholic cathedrals, the main city Mosque, Chinatown, the Supreme Court House, the 18th century Barracks, and the Natural History Museum (free admission).
