National Botanical Garden Mauritius is home to a vast array of tropical plants. Many of which are indigenous to the island.

 The National Botanical Garden is also known as (Sir Seewoosagur Botanic Garden.) It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Mauritius. The garden is in the proximity of Port-Louis in the district of Pamplemousse.
The French Governor of Mauritius established the botanical garden as a private garden 300 years ago. It is now known as the Mauritius National Botanical Garden.
The botanical garden encompasses countless acres of land. It could take you more than a week to finish the entire garden. It is home to over 650 plant species, including the famous Baobabs and the Palmier Bouteille. Giant Water Lilies, dozens of medicinal plants, a large spice garden, and much more.
The 85 different varieties of palm trees brought from various parts of the world are one of the botanical garden’s main attractions. Other native plant species are also on display.
Guides are available at the garden’s entrance. They Provide a full tour for as little as one euro per hour per person. (Guide fees are collected at the botanical garden’s entrance). We tell you to use the services of the guides.
